Routes and Distances

Pune to Nashik Routes for Kumbh Mela

Nashik is about 210 km from central Pune. In normal traffic the drive takes 4.5 to 5 hours. During the Kumbh, the last 20 to 30 km into Nashik can take far longer on Amrit Snan days, so our drivers choose the route on the day based on traffic police advisories.

Route 1 | about 210 km | 4.5 to 5 hrs

Pune Nashik Highway via Sangamner

Pune, Nashik Phata, Chakan, Rajgurunagar, Manchar, Narayangaon, Alephata, Sangamner, Sinnar and Nashik. The shortest and most used route, with plenty of food and fuel stops. This is our default route for Kumbh trips.

Route 2 | about 290 km | 6 to 6.5 hrs

Via Ahilyanagar and Shirdi

Pune, Shikrapur, Shirur, Ahilyanagar, Rahuri, Shirdi, Sinnar and Nashik. Longer, but the best choice when your plan includes Sai Baba darshan at Shirdi, and a useful option when Route 1 is crowded near Sangamner.

Route 3 | about 330 km | 6.5 to 7.5 hrs

Via Expressway and Kasara Ghat

Pune, Mumbai Pune Expressway, Bhiwandi bypass, Kasara Ghat, Igatpuri and Nashik on the Mumbai Agra highway. Higher toll, but it enters Nashik from the west side, which can help for Trimbakeshwar or Igatpuri stays.

Kumbh Darshan Guide

Places to Visit During Nashik Kumbh Mela

Share the places you want to cover when you book, so the driver plans the day around parking zones and temple timings. These are the stops most Pune groups ask for.

Ramkund, Panchavati

The main Kumbh bathing ghat on the Godavari in Nashik, where the Amrit Snan processions of the akhadas take place. The evening Godavari aarti here is a highlight of any trip.

Kalaram Mandir

A historic temple of Lord Rama built in black stone, a short walk from Ramkund. Plan your visit before noon on busy days.

Sita Gufa and Kapaleshwar Mandir

Sita Gufa is linked with the Ramayana, and Kapaleshwar Mahadev Mandir stands opposite Ramkund. Both are in the Panchavati walking zone.

Tapovan

The riverside area associated with Lakshman and the Ramayana. During the Simhastha, the sadhugram and akhada camps are planned around this area.

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga

One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, about 30 km from Nashik, near the source of the Godavari at Brahmagiri. The second Kumbh venue with its own Amrit Snan days.

Kushavarta Kund

The sacred tank at Trimbakeshwar where the Shaiva akhadas take the Amrit Snan. Expect queues and walking on snan days.

Anjaneri and Brahmagiri

Anjaneri, revered as the birthplace of Hanuman, is on the Nashik to Trimbakeshwar road. Brahmagiri hill is the origin of the Godavari, best for groups who can climb.

Muktidham and Saptashrungi

Muktidham in Nashik Road has replicas of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Saptashrungi Devi at Vani, about 60 km away, is one of the Shakti Peethas and has a funicular for elders.

Parking and Traffic Plan

How Parking and Traffic Will Work During Kumbh 2027

This matters more than the vehicle you choose, and most travel pages leave it out. The Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority has planned a three tier system so the areas around Ramkund and Trimbakeshwar temple stay pedestrian zones.

Tier 1

Outer parking zones

Private and rented vehicles stop at designated parking lots on the main highways into Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. On peak Amrit Snan days, only the outer parking zones are planned to operate.

Tier 2

MSRTC shuttle buses

From the parking lots, shuttle buses carry pilgrims to drop points near the ghats. The state has planned a network of thousands of buses linking parking hubs and railway stations.

Tier 3

Walking zone

The last stretch to Ramkund, Panchavati and Kushavarta Kund is on foot. Plan for walking and waiting time, especially with elders and children.

What this means for your Pune group

  • Your driver drops the group at the parking zone for your entry route and stays with the vehicle, so you return to the same vehicle after snan.
  • Share the vehicle number and driver mobile with every member before leaving the parking lot, and fix a meeting point.
  • One large vehicle is easier to manage than three small cars, because the whole group parks, walks and returns together.
  • Entry routes and lot locations are announced by Nashik traffic police close to each snan date. We follow the official plan on the day and update you on WhatsApp.

Travel Smart

Kumbh Mela Travel Tips for Pune Families

Travelling with senior citizens

  • Choose Innova or Force Urbania for easier entry and reclining seats
  • Prefer parva snan days over Amrit Snan days for lighter crowds
  • Carry a light foldable stool and keep medicines in a separate pouch
  • Tell us in advance if you need space for a wheelchair or walker

Travelling with children

  • Put a card with your name and mobile number in every child’s pocket
  • Dress the group in one bright colour so everyone is easy to spot
  • Keep snacks, water and a change of clothes in the vehicle
  • Agree on one meeting point near the parking zone

Before you book

  • Fix your snan date and confirm your stay in Nashik, Trimbakeshwar or Igatpuri first

  • Book the vehicle as soon as your dates are fixed, ideally months ahead for Amrit Snan

What to carry

  • Aadhaar or another ID for every adult

FAQs

Pune to Nashik Kumbh Mela Vehicle Rental FAQs

Which vehicles can I rent from Pune for the Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027?

You can rent a Swift Dzire or Etios (4+1), Ertiga or Rumion (6+1), Innova Crysta (6+1) or Hycross (7+1), Force Urbania (9+1 to 17+1 Driver), Tata Winger (9+1 and 13+1), tempo travellers from 12 to 26 seats, SML mini buses from 17 to 32 seats and luxury buses with 40, 45 and 50 seats. Every vehicle comes with a driver.

What is the vehicle rental price from Pune to Nashik for Kumbh Mela?

Starting rates are β‚Ή13 per km for a Swift Dzire, β‚Ή20 per km for an Innova Crysta, β‚Ή31 to β‚Ή33 per km for a Force Urbania, β‚Ή27 to β‚Ή40 per km for a tempo traveller and β‚Ή35 to β‚Ή70 per km for a bus. A 2 day Nashik and Trimbakeshwar trip of 600 km starts at about β‚Ή7,800 for a sedan, β‚Ή16,800 for a 17 seater tempo traveller and β‚Ή42,000 for a 50 seater bus. Toll, parking and driver night charges are extra.

What is the per person cost of a Kumbh trip from Pune?

For a full vehicle on a 2 day, 600 km trip, the base fare works out to about β‚Ή840 per person in a 50 seater bus, β‚Ή900 to β‚Ή990 in a 17 or 20 seater tempo traveller, β‚Ή1,165 to β‚Ή1,600 in a Force Urbania and β‚Ή1,500 to β‚Ή2,100 in a car. Toll and parking are extra.

What are the Amrit Snan dates of Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027?

The announced Amrit Snan dates are 2 August 2027, 31 August 2027 and 11 September 2027 at Ramkund in Nashik, with the third Amrit Snan at Trimbakeshwar on 12 September 2027. The Simhastha began on 31 October 2026 and ends on 24 July 2028. Dates can be revised, so we confirm them at booking.

How far is Nashik from Pune and how long does the drive take?

Nashik is about 210 km from central Pune. The drive takes 4.5 to 5 hours in normal traffic via Chakan, Narayangaon, Sangamner and Sinnar. On Amrit Snan days the final stretch into Nashik can take much longer, so we plan early departures.

Which is the best route from Pune to Nashik during Kumbh?

The Pune Nashik highway via Sangamner and Sinnar, about 210 km, is the shortest and our default. The route via Ahilyanagar and Shirdi, about 290 km, suits trips that include Shirdi. The Expressway and Kasara Ghat route, about 330 km, enters Nashik from the west and can help for Trimbakeshwar or Igatpuri stays.

Will our vehicle be allowed up to Ramkund or Trimbakeshwar temple on Amrit Snan days?

No. The Kumbh Mela Authority plans to stop private and rented vehicles at outer parking zones on peak snan days. Pilgrims then use MSRTC shuttle buses to drop points and walk the last stretch. Your driver parks at the assigned lot and stays with the vehicle.

How early should we book a vehicle for Kumbh Mela 2027?

Book as soon as your snan date and stay are fixed. For the 2 August, 31 August and 11 and 12 September Amrit Snan dates, booking several months ahead is safest, especially for Urbania, 17 to 26 seater tempo travellers and large buses.

Is a same day Pune to Nashik Kumbh Mela trip possible?

On regular days, yes. Leave Pune by about 4 am and you can finish Ramkund darshan and be home by night. On Amrit Snan days we suggest at least 2 days, because outer parking, shuttle queues and walking add many hours.

Which vehicle is best for a group of 10 to 15 people?

A Force Urbania 12+1 or 13+1 Driver gives the most comfortable ride for families and elders. A 13 seater Tata Winger or 13 seater tempo traveller costs less. For 14 or 15 people with luggage, a 16+1 Urbania or a 17 seater tempo traveller is the better fit.

Which vehicle is most comfortable for senior citizens?

For small families, the Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross. For groups, the Force Urbania, with reclining captain seats, individual AC vents and an easy entry step. Tell us if anyone uses a wheelchair or walker so we keep space for it.

Do you provide buses for societies, mandals and large groups?

Yes. We have SML mini buses from 17 to 32 seats and AC luxury buses with 40, 45 and 50 seats. For groups above 50 we arrange two or more vehicles with one common pickup point and departure time.

What is not included in the Kumbh Mela vehicle fare?

Toll, parking including Kumbh parking lots, any permit and the driver night charge on multi day trips are paid at actuals. Fuel, AC and the driver are included. Every charge is explained in the quote before you confirm.

Can we cover Trimbakeshwar, Shirdi and Saptashrungi in the same trip?

Yes. Trimbakeshwar is about 30 km from Nashik, Saptashrungi about 60 km and Shirdi about 90 km. A 3 day trip covers Nashik, Trimbakeshwar and Shirdi, and a 4 day trip adds Saptashrungi Devi at Vani.

Does the driver stay with us in Nashik on a multi day trip?

Yes. The same vehicle and driver stay with your group for the whole trip, including local movement between Nashik, Trimbakeshwar and other temples. A driver night charge applies for each night.

Do you pick up from Pimpri Chinchwad, Hinjewadi and other areas?

Yes. We pick up from every part of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, including Karve Nagar, Kothrud, Baner, Hinjewadi, Wakad, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Bhosari and Chakan.

Where should we stay for the Nashik Kumbh Mela?

Most groups stay in Nashik city, near Trimbakeshwar, or in Igatpuri if Nashik is fully booked. Book your stay before the vehicle and tell us the address, so the driver plans the shortest route to the right parking zone.

Can we visit Nashik for Kumbh outside the Amrit Snan dates?

Yes. The Simhastha runs from 31 October 2026 to 24 July 2028, and the ghats and temples are open for darshan throughout. Non snan days are calmer, cheaper to book and better for elders and children.

Are your vehicles AC and how are they maintained?

All our cars, Urbania vans, Tata Wingers, tempo travellers and buses are AC vehicles. Each vehicle is cleaned and checked before every trip and is GPS tracked.
