The Ashtavinayak yatra is a visit to the eight swayambhu Ganpati temples spread across Pune, Ahilyanagar and Raigad districts. Doing it by public transport means many bus changes and long waits. The yatra can be done all year. October to February is the most comfortable season. In the monsoon the drive to Pali and Mahad is green and beautiful, but roads can be slow. Ganeshotsav, Angarki Chaturthi and Maghi Ganesh Jayanti are the busiest days, so book your Urbania 2 to 3 weeks early for those dates.
