Pune to Mumbai Cab Booking: One Way and Round Trip Taxi

Looking for a reliable Pune to Mumbai cab? Shelke Travels runs one way drop and round trip cabs between Pune and Mumbai every day, with hatchbacks, sedans, Ertiga, Innova and Innova Crysta for individuals and families, and tempo travellers, Force Urbania and buses for bigger groups. You tell us the pickup address, drop address and time, we confirm the car and the fare, and a verified driver reaches your door.

Whether you are going to Mumbai for a flight, a business meeting, a wedding or a weekend away, a private Pune to Mumbai taxi saves you the stress of bus stands, railway queues and last mile cabs. You can call us on +91 84840 68364 or book on WhatsApp in two minutes.

Pune to Mumbai cab fare at a glance

The Pune to Mumbai cab fare depends on the car you pick, whether it is one way or round trip, and your exact pickup and drop points. These are our current starting fares for a one way drop:

Fares can change on festival dates, long weekends and peak wedding days, and a pickup far from the city centre may add a small amount. The number we tell you when you book is the number you pay. We do not add charges on the way. For tolls and parking, we explain exactly how they are handled in the quote itself, so there is no argument at the end of the trip.

What decides your Pune to Mumbai cab fare

Two customers going from Pune to Mumbai on the same day can get different quotes, and that is normal. These are the things that move the number:

  • Car type. A hatchback costs less than a sedan, and an Innova Crysta costs more than an Innova, because of the vehicle, the fuel and the comfort.
  • Trip type. A one way drop is a fixed fare. A round trip depends on the kilometres the cab runs and the days it stays with you.
  • Pickup and drop points. Pune to Panvel is shorter than Pune to Borivali. A pickup in Hinjewadi or Pimpri Chinchwad is not the same as a pickup in Swargate.
  • Date and season. Weekends, long weekends, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi and wedding season are busy, and the car you want may be booked early.
  • Night or very early pickups. A 2 am pickup for a morning flight needs a driver on night duty, so tell us the exact time.
  • Extra stops. A halt in Lonavala, a hotel visit or a detour adds time and kilometres.

Always ask for the fare in writing and ask what it covers. A good Pune to Mumbai cab fare is one you understand fully before you travel, not just the lowest number on a poster.

Why Choose Shelke Travels?

One way drop, round trip and same day return

One way cab. You travel from Pune to Mumbai and the cab does not wait for you. You pay a fixed drop fare instead of paying for the return distance. This is the most booked option for airport trips, relocations and one way visits.

Round trip. The cab stays with you in Mumbai and brings you back. This suits business visits, family functions and sightseeing, because you do not need local cabs at every stop. The fare is usually calculated on kilometres and days, so share your plan and we will quote it clearly.

Same day return. Many customers leave Pune early, finish work in Mumbai and return the same night. We plan a realistic schedule so the driver is not rushed and you reach home at a sensible hour.

Pune to Mumbai route, distance and travel time

The distance from Pune to Mumbai is about 150 km, and most cabs take the Mumbai Pune Expressway. It starts near Kiwale on the Pune side, goes through the Khandala ghat section and ends near Kalamboli and Panvel. From there, the road continues to Vashi, Chembur, Dadar, Andheri or your drop location. The old NH48 route through Lonavala and Khopoli is also possible if you want a different road or a stop in Lonavala.

On a normal day, the drive takes about 3 to 4 hours. Peak traffic in Mumbai can add 30 to 60 minutes, so a drop in Andheri at 9 am takes longer than a drop in Navi Mumbai at 2 pm.

Timings that help:

  • Leave Pune between 5 am and 7 am to reach Mumbai before office traffic.
  • Friday evenings and Sunday evenings are the busiest on the expressway, because of weekend travellers. Add extra time.
  • In monsoon, the ghat can slow down because of rain and low visibility. Keep a 30 to 45 minute buffer if you have a flight or a meeting.
  • For a flight from Mumbai, plan to reach 3 hours before a domestic flight and 4 hours before an international one.

The drive from Pune to Mumbai, stage by stage

Pune to Lonavala (first hour). After leaving the city you join the expressway near Kiwale. It is a wide, divided, access controlled road, and this first stretch is usually quick outside peak hours.

The Khandala ghat (second hour). The road climbs and then descends the Sahyadri range. Speed limits are lower here, trucks keep to the left lane, and rain or fog can cut visibility. Our drivers follow lane rules and do not overtake on blind curves.

Food plazas and washroom stops. There are food plazas along the expressway. A 10 to 15 minute halt is enough for tea and a washroom. A long meal break adds directly to your travel time, so plan it before you leave.

Khalapur to Panvel (third hour). The road continues through the Raigad district towards Kalamboli and Panvel. If your drop is in Panvel or Navi Mumbai, the drive is almost over here.

Panvel to your Mumbai drop (final stretch). This is the part that is hardest to predict. From Panvel the route goes through Vashi, Chembur and Sion, and city traffic decides the time. A drop in South Mumbai on a weekday morning can take an extra hour compared with a drop in Navi Mumbai at midday.

Choosing the best departure time

  • 5 am to 7 am: The best window for most trips. You cross the ghat in light traffic and reach Mumbai before office hours.
  • 10 am to 1 pm: A good option if you do not want to start very early. Mumbai traffic is moderate at this time.
  • After 4 pm: On Fridays and weekends the expressway is busy, and you reach Mumbai in the evening peak. Add extra time.
  • Night: The expressway is quieter, but it is tiring for passengers. For a very early flight, a night pickup is usually the safest plan.

Pickup and drop points

In Pune

We pick up from any address in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, including Karve Nagar, Kothrud, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Koregaon Park, Baner, Wakad, Hinjewadi, Pune railway station and Pune airport. Our office is at Shop No. 4, Barate Complex, opposite Samrath Ashok Vidya Mandir, Mavale Basti, Hingne Budruk, Karve Nagar, Pune 411052.

In Mumbai

We drop at homes, hotels, offices, wedding venues and stations across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Popular drops include Dadar, Andheri, Bandra, Powai, Vashi, Panvel, Borivali, Colaba and Nariman Point.

Mumbai airport transfers

Many customers book a Pune to Mumbai cab for a flight. We drop at both Mumbai airport terminals. For details and the fare, see our Pune to Mumbai airport cab. If you are arriving in Mumbai and heading to Pune, use the Mumbai airport to Pune cab.

Pune to Navi Mumbai, Thane and Panvel cab

You do not have to go all the way to central Mumbai. Many customers book a Pune to Navi Mumbai cab, a Pune to Panvel cab or a Pune to Thane cab. As a rough guide, Panvel is about 120 km from Pune, Vashi and Navi Mumbai are about 140 km, and Thane is about 160 km, depending on the exact pickup and drop. These are approximate figures, and the fare depends on the car and the exact address. Share the drop location when you enquire and we will quote it.

Pune to Mumbai airport cab: how to plan your timing

The most common mistake with an airport cab is leaving too late. The drive takes 3 to 4 hours, and you need to reach the airport well before check in closes. As a simple rule, leave Pune 6 to 7 hours before a domestic flight and 7 to 8 hours before an international flight. For example, for a 6 am domestic flight, a pickup around 11 pm to midnight is sensible. For a 2 pm flight, a pickup around 7 am works.

Tell us your flight time, your airline and your terminal when you book, because the two Mumbai terminals are in different parts of the airport area and the driver should know where to drop you. During monsoon and on Friday or Sunday evenings, add another 45 minutes.

How to book your Pune to Mumbai cab

  1. Call or WhatsApp us on +91 84840 68364, or use the contact us.
  2. Share the pickup address, drop address, date, time and number of passengers.
  3. Tell us how much luggage you have and whether it is a one way or round trip.
  4. We confirm the car and send the fare in writing.
  5. The driver name, number and vehicle number are shared before pickup, so you know who is coming.

For regular dates, same day booking is often possible depending on the car. For weddings, festivals and long weekends, book 7 to 10 days ahead.

Why book a Pune to Mumbai taxi with Shelke Travels

Clear fares: You get the fare before the trip starts, in writing, and it does not change on the road unless you add a stop or change the route yourself.

Drivers who know the route: Our drivers drive the expressway and the ghat section regularly, including at night and in monsoon. They follow lane discipline and speed limits, and they will not take risks to save ten minutes.

Clean, serviced cars: Cars are cleaned before every trip and serviced regularly. AC, seat belts and tyres are checked before pickup.

Door to door: No bus stand, no railway queue and no parking problem. The driver picks you up at your gate and drops you at your destination.

A car for every need: From a hatchback for one traveller to an Innova Crysta for a family of six, you can pick the car that fits your group, luggage and budget.

A real local office: We are based in Karve Nagar, Pune, and you can reach us by phone and WhatsApp when you need help before or during the trip.

Pune to Mumbai by cab, bus, train or flight

Cab: The most flexible option. You choose the pickup time, stop when you need to and go straight to your destination. The drive takes about 3 to 4 hours.

Bus: Cheapest for a single traveller, with many departures through the day. You will need to reach the bus stand and then arrange a way to your final stop in Mumbai.

Train: Several trains run daily between Pune and Mumbai, and the journey takes around 3 to 4 hours depending on the train. It is good if you are travelling light, but station transfers at both ends add time.

Flight: Quickest in the air, but with airport check in time and city transfers, it rarely saves much time over the road.

For two or more people with luggage, a cab often costs about the same as separate tickets once you add the cost of getting to and from stations, and it is far more comfortable.

Tips for a comfortable Pune to Mumbai cab trip

  • Start early, ideally between 5 am and 7 am.
  • Share the full drop address, not only the hotel name, because many hotels have more than one gate.
  • Tell us in advance about elderly passengers, small children or motion sickness so we can plan stops.
  • Carry water and a light snack. There are food plazas on the expressway, but you should plan breaks around traffic.
  • Reconfirm the driver number the evening before the trip.
  • For flights, do not plan a tight schedule on Friday and Sunday evenings.

Who books a Pune to Mumbai cab, and why

Airport travellers: This is our biggest group. Flights from Mumbai give more destinations and often better fares, and a private cab removes the worry of missing a flight because of a late bus or train.

Business travellers: Meetings, site visits, client dinners and conferences in Mumbai are a daily reason to book. A cab lets you work or rest on the way, and the driver waits at a place you choose, not at a crowded stand.

Families and wedding guests: Weddings, engagements, naming ceremonies and festival visits usually mean luggage, gifts and elders. An Ertiga or an Innova keeps the family together and avoids the stress of changing vehicles.

Students and job seekers: Visa appointments at consulates in Mumbai, admission visits, entrance exams and interviews all come with a fixed time. A cab with a buffer in the schedule is far safer than a train with a connection.

Medical visits: Many families travel from Pune to Mumbai for hospital appointments. Door to door travel, a comfortable seat and the freedom to stop when needed make a real difference for a patient. Tell us in advance if someone needs extra care or a slower drive.

Leisure and sightseeing: Mumbai is a popular weekend trip from Pune. Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Juhu Beach, Siddhivinayak Temple and Haji Ali Dargah are common stops, and a round trip cab keeps the plan flexible.

One way relocations and small shifts: If you are moving to Mumbai with a few bags, a one way drop in an Ertiga or an Innova is often simpler than arranging a separate vehicle.

Safety checklist before you book any Pune to Mumbai cab

A cab for a 150 km expressway trip should be booked with a little care. Here is what to check with any operator, including us.

  • Get the fare in writing, with what is included and what is not.
  • Ask for the car type and the vehicle number before the pickup, and the name and phone number of the driver.
  • Check that the vehicle is a commercial vehicle with a valid permit and insurance, and that it is clean and air conditioned.
  • Ask about the driver’s experience on the expressway, the ghat and night driving.
  • Ask for live location sharing, so family at home can see where the cab is.
  • Share your trip details with a family member before you leave, including the vehicle number.
  • Keep a contact number you can call during the trip if something changes.

At Shelke Travels the driver details and vehicle number are shared before the trip, vehicles are GPS tracked, and our office in Karve Nagar is reachable by phone and WhatsApp.

Travelling with senior citizens, children and luggage

  • Seating. Senior citizens are more comfortable in the front seat of an Innova or Crysta because of easier entry and better legroom. Children usually do well in the middle row.
  • Breaks. For elders or children, plan one stop after about 90 minutes, near the end of the ghat section.
  • Medicines, water and snacks. Keep them within reach, not in the boot.
  • Motion sickness. Tell the driver at the start, and ask for a seat near the window and a slower pace in the ghat.
  • Luggage. Count your bags before you book. Three or more suitcases and four or more passengers usually mean an Ertiga or an Innova, not a sedan.
  • Valuables. Carry documents, wallets and electronics with you, not in the boot.
  • Address details. Share the full address and a landmark at the drop, because many Mumbai buildings have more than one gate.
